The Kowloon City Kai Tak Road / Sha Po Road development project is about to commence, and the Urban Renewal Authority (URA) invites interested developers and consortia to submit expressions of interest for cooperation starting today, October 10.
This Kowloon City project is expected to provide approximately 810 residential units and allocate around 8,611 square feet of total gross floor area for the construction of a community childcare center.
The project site covers an area of 57,125 square feet, with a maximum total gross floor area for development of 514,121 square feet.
In addition to the residential units, the URA also plans to reconfigure and improve the road network, construct a multilevel underground plaza spanning approximately 10,763 square feet, housing various retail outlets, and connecting to the underground shopping street of the Kai Tak development area through a new pedestrian tunnel.
Furthermore, the underground plaza will integrate a portion of the URA's Yau Ma Tei Road / Nathan Road Development Project, forming a gateway plaza.
Lastly, the project will include the construction of an underground car park, offering approximately 300 public parking spaces to alleviate parking shortages in the area and reduce illegal parking issues.
This project represents a critical component of the URA's "planning-led" and "integration" strategies, serving as a vital node connecting the old district with the new development area.
If you are interested in this project, you can submit your cooperation expression of interest to the URA before 12:00 PM on October 24.
